Mukhtasar Muslim

´Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says that` the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was neither very tall nor very short, neither completely white nor completely wheat-colored. The hair of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was neither completely curly nor completely straight. Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, honored him with Prophethood at the age of forty. Then he (peace be upon him) stayed in Makkah for ten years and in Madinah for ten years, and at the end of his sixtieth year, Allah Almighty took him (peace be upon him) (i.e., he passed away), and at that time there were not even twenty white hairs in his blessed head and beard.

Sayyiduna Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was of medium height and there was a wide gap between his shoulders (i.e., his chest was broad). His hair was thick and reached his earlobes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) used to wear a red garment (i.e., one with red and yellow stripes). I have not seen anyone more beautiful than him (peace and blessings be upon him).

Sayyiduna Abu Tufail (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and now, on the earth, there is no one left among those who saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) except me. (The narrator of the hadith, Jariri) says: I asked him, "You saw him—what was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) like?" He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was white in complexion, with a tinge of fairness, of medium height, and had a well-proportioned body. Imam Muslim said that Abu Tufail died in the year 100 AH, and among the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he was the last to die.
