Hadith 1520
´Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that` he (peace be upon him) said: When the Day of Judgment draws near, a Muslim’s dream will not be false, and the truest dream among you will be of the one who is most truthful in speech. And a Muslim’s dream is one part out of forty-five parts of Prophethood. And dreams are of three types: one is a good dream which is glad tidings from Allah Almighty, the second is a distressing dream which is from Satan, and the third is a dream which is a thought from one’s own heart. So when any of you sees a bad dream, he should stand up and offer prayer and not mention it to people. And I consider seeing chains on the feet in a dream to be good, and a collar around the neck to be bad. The narrator (Ayyub) said: I do not know whether this statement is part of the hadith or the words of Ibn Sirin.
