Mukhtasar Muslim

Abu Salamah says: I used to see such dreams that (because of fear of them) I would fall ill. Then I met Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) (and asked him about this). He said that I was also in the same condition, until I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A good dream is from Allah, so when any of you sees a good dream, he should not relate it except to his friend. And when he sees a bad dream, he should spit three times to his left and seek refuge with Allah from the evil of Satan, and he should not relate it to anyone, then it will not harm him."
