Hadith 1471
Narrated from Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her): When someone would die in her house, women would gather, and when they would leave and only the household members and close people remained, she would order for a pot of talbina to be prepared (talbina is a porridge made by mixing bran or flour with honey), then it would be cooked. After that, tharid (bread and broth) would be prepared and the talbina would be poured over it. Then she would say to the women, “Eat it, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Talbina comforts the heart of the sick and lessens some of the sorrow when it is drunk.”
