Hadith 1470
‘Ata bin Abi Rabah says that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said to me, “Shall I show you a woman of Paradise?” I said, “Show me.” He said, “This black woman came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, ‘I suffer from epilepsy and during it my body becomes uncovered. Please pray to Allah for me.’ The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, ‘If you are patient, you will have Paradise, but if you wish, I will pray to Allah to cure you.’ She said, ‘I will be patient.’ Then she said, ‘But my body becomes uncovered, so please pray to Allah that my body does not become uncovered.’ So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for her (and her body was never uncovered in that state). It is known from this that the reward for patience in illness and hardship is Paradise.”
