Mukhtasar Muslim

Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We used to perform ruqyah (incantations) during the time of ignorance. We said, "O Messenger of Allah! What do you say about this?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Present your ruqyah to me. There is nothing wrong with ruqyah as long as it does not contain anything of shirk (associating partners with Allah)."
