Hadith 1460
‘Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says that when any of us would fall ill, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would pass his right hand over them, then say: “O Master, remove this illness and grant health, You are the Giver of healing, Your healing alone is true, grant such a healing that no illness remains.” When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) himself fell ill and his illness became severe, I took his hand to do as he used to do (that is, I intended to pass his hand and recite this supplication), but he withdrew his hand from my hand and then said: “O Allah! Forgive me and join me with the Highest Companion.” Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) said that then when I looked, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had passed away. (That is, with this supplication, Allah the Exalted called him to Himself.)
