Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to instruct me to perform ruqyah (spiritual healing) because of the evil eye.

‘Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that’ the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted the people of Al-Hazm to perform ruqyah (incantation) for snake bites. And he said to Asma bint Umais (may Allah be pleased with her): “What is the reason that I find my brother’s children (i.e., the sons of Ja’far bin Abi Talib) thin? Are they hungry?” Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “No, they are quickly affected by the evil eye.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Perform ruqyah for them.” I presented a ruqyah before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: “Recite this ruqyah over them.”
