Hadith 1449
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that some of the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) were on a journey and passed by a tribe of the Arabs. They asked them for hospitality, but they did not offer them any hospitality. Then they (the people of the tribe) said, "Is there anyone among you who knows incantation (ruqyah)?" Their chief had been stung by a scorpion. One of the companions said, "Yes, I know an incantation." Then he recited Surah Al-Fatihah and blew over him, and he was cured. So they gave them a flock of sheep, but they did not accept it and said, "I will ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." Then they came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and related the incident and said, "O Messenger of Allah! By Allah, I did nothing except recite Surah Al-Fatihah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled and said, "How did you know that it is an incantation?" Then he said, "Take the flock of sheep and allocate a share for me as well (because the Qur'an was revealed to the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him)."
