Mukhtasar Muslim

´It is narrated from Abu’l-‘Ala: Sayyiduna ‘Uthman bin Abu’l-‘As (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allah! Satan comes between me and my prayer and makes me forget the Qur’an.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “That Satan is called Khanzab. When you feel his effect, seek refuge with Allah from him and spit lightly to your left three times (during the prayer).” Sayyiduna ‘Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “I did that, and Allah removed that Satan from me.”
