Hadith 1435
Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says: When the command of veiling was revealed to us, after that, Sawda (may Allah be pleased with her) went out to relieve herself, and she was a heavy woman, who stood out among all women in her stoutness, and whoever knew her could not fail to recognize her (that is, he would recognize her). So, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saw her and said, “O Sawda! By Allah, you cannot hide yourself from us, so consider how you go out.” Hearing this, she returned, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was eating dinner in my house, and there was a bone in his hand. At that moment, Sawda came and said, “O Messenger of Allah! I went out, and Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said such and such to me.” Immediately, the state of revelation came upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then that state passed, and the bone was still in his hand, he had not put it down. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “You have been permitted to go out for your needs.”
