Hadith 1433
‘Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that a group of Jews greeted the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said, “As-saam ‘alaikum, O Abu al-Qasim!” (meaning: O Abu al-Qasim, death be upon you). The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, “Wa ‘alaikum.” Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) became angry and said, “Did you not hear what they said?” The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, “I heard it and I responded to them, and the supplication we make against them is accepted, but their supplication is not accepted.” (And so it happened that death befell the Jews—they died and were killed.)
