Hadith 1216
`Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that` on the day of Hudaybiyyah, we were one thousand four hundred men and we pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was holding your (peace and blessings be upon him) hand under the tree of Ridwan, and it was a samurah tree (samurah is a wild tree that grows in the desert), and we pledged allegiance to you (peace and blessings be upon him) on the condition that we would not flee, and we did not pledge allegiance that we would die.

Hadith 1217
Sayyiduna Salim bin Abi Al-Ja'd says: I asked Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) about the Companions of the Tree, how many people were they? He said: If we had been a hundred thousand people, (the well there) would have sufficed us (because by the supplication of the Prophet ﷺ, its water had greatly increased). We were fifteen hundred people.

`Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) says that` the people of Shajarah were thirteen hundred men, and the (tribe of) Aslam constituted one-eighth of the Muhajirun.
