Hadith 1192
`Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates that` the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) besieged the people of Ta’if and did not gain anything from them (i.e., they were not subdued). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If Allah wills, we will return. The companions said: Will we return without victory? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: All right, fight in the morning. They fought and were wounded, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: We will return tomorrow. This pleased them. (Upon this) the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled.
