Hadith 1091
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If an army or a detachment fights in jihad, then obtains spoils and returns safely, then two-thirds of its reward in the Hereafter has been given to it in this world. And if an army or a detachment returns empty-handed and suffers loss (i.e., is wounded or killed), then it will receive its full reward in the Hereafter.
