Hadith 1030
Narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the sister of Sayyiduna Rabi’ (may Allah be pleased with him), Umm Haritha (may Allah be pleased with her), who was the paternal aunt of Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), injured a man (she broke his tooth). Then they brought this dispute (case) to the Messenger of Allah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said that qisas (retaliation) will be taken, qisas will be taken. Umm Rabi’ said, “O Messenger of Allah! Will qisas be taken from so-and-so (woman)?” (meaning Umm Haritha). “By Allah, qisas will not be taken from her.” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Subhan Allah, O Umm Rabi’! The Book of Allah orders qisas.” Umm Rabi’ said, “No, by Allah, qisas will never be taken from her.” Umm Rabi’ kept saying this until the family of the one whose tooth was broken agreed to accept blood money. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “There are some servants of Allah that if they swear an oath by Allah, relying on Him, Allah fulfills their oath (i.e., makes their oath come true).”
