Hadith 970
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Urwah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) that Arwa bint Uwais made a claim against Sa'id bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that he had taken some of her land. And she presented the case against him before Marwan bin Hakam. So Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Would I take her land? And I have heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." Marwan said, "What have you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?" He said, "I heard him say: Whoever unjustly seizes even a handspan of someone else's land, Allah will make him wear a collar of it down to seven earths." Marwan said, "Now I will not ask you for any evidence." After this, Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Allah, if Arwa is lying, then make her blind and cause her to die in her own land." The narrator said that Arwa did not die until she became blind, and one day she was walking in her land, fell into a pit, and died.
