Hadith 963
Narrated by Sayyiduna Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet: He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A man died and entered Paradise, and he was asked: What deeds did you use to do? Then he remembered himself or was reminded, so he said: I used to sell goods to people (in the world), and I would give respite to the insolvent and overlook (their faults or losses in cash or coin and accept it). Because of this, he was forgiven. Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I also heard this from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

Hadith 964
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Abi Qatadah that his father, Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him), demanded repayment of a debt from one of his debtors, so he hid himself. Then when he found him, the debtor said, "I am destitute." Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) asked, "By Allah?" He replied, "By Allah." Then Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever wishes that Allah saves him from the hardships of the Day of Resurrection, let him grant respite to a destitute person or forgive (the debt) for him."
