Hadith 770
Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), “Is the wall of Hatim included in the House of Allah (Ka’bah)?” He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, “Yes.” (From this, the school of Imam Abu Hanifa is refuted and performing Tawaf inside the Hatim is not permissible because it is part of the House of Allah.) I (then) asked, “Why did they not include it in the House of Allah?” He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, “Your people ran short of funds.” (Then) I asked, “Why is its door so high?” He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, “This too was done by your people so that they could allow whomever they wished to enter it and prevent whomever they wished from entering. And if your people had not recently left ignorance and if I did not fear that they would dislike it, I would have intended to include the walls of Hatim within the House of Allah and to bring its door down to the ground.”
