‘Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says that Umm al-Mu’minin Safiyyah bint Huyayy (may Allah be pleased with her) experienced menstruation after performing the Tawaf al-Ifadah. So I mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Will she (Umm al-Mu’minin Safiyyah, may Allah be pleased with her) detain us in Makkah?” Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! She has already performed the Tawaf al-Ifadah, and then menstruated afterwards.” So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Then she may return (with us).”

`Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that` people were commanded to depart last from near the House of Allah (i.e., after performing Tawaf), and there was a concession for menstruating women (i.e., regarding the Farewell Tawaf).
