Hadith 752
'Abdur Rahman bin Humaid says: I heard Umar bin Abdul Aziz saying to the people sitting in his gathering, "What have you heard about residing in Makkah?" So Saib bin Yazid said: I heard Alaa (may Allah be pleased with him) (or he said: Alaa bin Hadrami, may Allah be pleased with him) say that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The emigrant, after performing the rites of Hajj, should stay in Makkah for three days (meaning, he should not stay more than this). (For those who migrated from Makkah, it was forbidden to reside in Makkah or make it their homeland after migration. However, after Hajj and Umrah, a permission of three days is given in this hadith.)
