Hadith 746
Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that in the year of the Farewell Hajj, we set out (from Madinah) with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Some of us assumed ihram only for ‘Umrah, some assumed ihram for both Hajj and ‘Umrah, and some assumed ihram only for Hajj. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) himself assumed ihram only for Hajj. (Thus) whoever assumed ihram only for ‘Umrah became halal (came out of ihram) as soon as he performed tawaf, but those who assumed ihram for Hajj or for both Hajj and ‘Umrah did not become halal until the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Nahr).
