Hadith 686
Nabiyah bin Wahb says: We set out with Aban bin Uthman, and when we reached (the place) Milal (which is twenty-eight miles from Madinah on the way to Makkah), Umar bin Ubaidullah’s eyes began to hurt. And when we reached Rauha (a place), and the pain became severe, he sent a man to Aban bin Uthman to ask (about treatment). He said: Apply aloes (aloevera), because Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: When a man’s eyes begin to hurt and he is in the state of ihram, he should apply aloes to them.
