Hadith 678
Narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "Which kinds of clothes may a Muhrim wear?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Do not wear shirts, nor turbans, nor trousers, nor cloaks, nor socks, except if someone cannot find sandals, then let him wear socks after cutting them below the ankles. And do not wear any garment that has been touched with saffron or dyed with 'wars'."
