Hadith 651
`Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that` the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) fixed Dhu’l-Hulayfah as the miqat for the people of Madinah, Juhfah for the people of Sham, Qarn al-Manazil for the people of Najd, and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen. And all these miqats are for those who live in these regions and also for those who come from other countries with the intention of Hajj or Umrah to those places. Then those who reside within these miqats, that is, those closer to Makkah, should enter ihram from where they are, so much so that the people of Makkah should call out the talbiyah from Makkah itself.

Hadith 652
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Zubair that he heard from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) (when) he was asked about the place for putting on Ihram, so he said—and I think he narrated it as a marfu’ hadith—that I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: For the people of Madinah, the place for entering Ihram is Dhu’l-Hulaifah; for those coming by the other route, it is Juhfah; for the people of Iraq, the place for entering Ihram is Dhat ‘Irq; for the people of Najd, it is Qarn al-Manazil; and for the people of Yemen, it is Yalamlam.
