Hadith 622
Abu Ubaid, the freed slave of Ibn Azhar, narrates that I attended Eid with Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). He came and performed the prayer. Then, after finishing, he delivered a sermon to the people and said: "These two days are such that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fasting on them. One is the day of your breaking the fast after Ramadan, and the other is the day on which you eat from your sacrifices."
