Mukhtasar Muslim

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Shaqiq (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: I asked Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her), “Did the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ever fast for the entire days of any month?” She replied, “I do not know that he (peace be upon him) ever fasted the entire month except for Ramadan, nor did he ever leave fasting for an entire month. Rather, he (peace be upon him) used to fast some days in every month until he (peace be upon him) departed from this world (may Allah’s peace and mercy be upon him).”
