Hadith 548
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of a miser and a charitable person is like two men wearing iron armor. When the generous person wants to give charity, his armor becomes loose, until it begins to erase the marks of his footsteps. And when the miser wants to give charity, his armor becomes tight, and his hands get stuck to his neck, and each ring gets locked into the next ring. The narrator of the hadith (Sayyiduna Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say that then he tries to loosen it, but it does not become loose.
