Hadith 340
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would go out on the day of Eid, he would order a spear to be fixed in front of him. Then he would pray behind it, and the people would be behind him, and he used to do this while traveling as well. For this reason, the leaders have made it a practice (to keep a spear with them).
