´Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that` the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The ‘Isha and Fajr prayers are very heavy upon the hypocrites. If they knew the reward for them, they would come even if they had to crawl on their knees. And I had intended to order for the prayer to be established, then appoint someone to lead the people in prayer, and I would go with some men carrying bundles of wood to those who did not attend the prayer and burn their houses down. And in another narration, it is added: If a person were to find a meaty bone, he would surely come (i.e., to the prayer).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I intend, regarding those people who do not attend the Friday (prayer), to order a man to lead the people in prayer, then I would go to the houses of those who did not come to Friday and burn them down."
