Mukhtasar Muslim

Narrated from Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate in prayer: “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of the Dajjal, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death, and I seek refuge in You from sin and debt.” A man asked, “O Messenger of Allah! Why do you so often seek refuge from debt?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, “When a person is in debt, he tells lies and breaks promises.”
