Hadith 246
´Sayyida ‘Amrah bint ‘Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with her) heard from Umm al-Mu’minin ‘A’ishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: If the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had seen the women of this age who adorn themselves, he would have prevented them from coming to the mosque, just as the women of Bani Isra’il were prevented. (The narrator) Yahya ibn Sa‘id asked the narrator Sayyida ‘Amrah (may Allah be pleased with her): O ‘Amrah! Were the women of Bani Isra’il prevented from coming to the mosque? She said: Yes.
