Hadith 244
Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We were praying with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when he heard the sound of people’s footsteps. He said (i.e., after the prayer), "What is your condition?" They said, "We hurried for the prayer." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do not do that. When you come for the prayer, come calmly. Then whatever you catch (with the Imam), pray it, and whatever you have missed, complete it."
