Hadith 132
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Shall I not tell you about those things by which sins are erased (i.e., forgiven or wiped out from the record of the scribes) and ranks are elevated (in Paradise)? The people said: Why not, O Messenger of Allah! Please tell us. He (peace be upon him) said: Performing ablution thoroughly (properly) even in difficulty (such as severe cold or illness), and taking many steps towards the mosques (such that the house is far from the mosque and one goes repeatedly), and waiting for one prayer after another prayer. That is ribat (i.e., restraining the soul for worship).
