Hadith 96
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited Allah Almighty’s statement about Ibrahim (peace be upon him): “O my Lord (Deity), they have indeed led many people astray. So whoever follows me, he is of me, and whoever disobeys me, then surely You are Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Surah Ibrahim: 36) And the statement of Isa (peace be upon him) (which is mentioned in the Holy Qur’an): “If You punish them, they are Your servants, and if You forgive them, then surely You are the Mighty, the Wise.” Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) raised both his hands and said: O my Lord! My ummah, my ummah. And he began to weep. Allah Almighty said: O Jibril! Go to Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and your Lord knows best, but go and ask him why he is weeping. Jibril (peace be upon him) came to him and asked: Why are you weeping? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) explained everything. Jibril then went back to Allah Almighty and informed Him, though He already knew best. Allah Almighty said: O Jibril! Go to Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and say: We will surely please you concerning your ummah and will not displease you.

Hadith 97
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that Tufail bin Amr Dausi (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (in Makkah before the migration) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Do you want a strong fortress and an army?" (He referred to the fortress that belonged to the tribe of Daus in the time of ignorance.) The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not accept this because Allah Almighty had decreed for the Ansar that (the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would stay with them under their protection and support). Then, when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) migrated to Madinah, Sayyiduna Tufail bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) also migrated, and with him, a man from his tribe also migrated. Then the climate of Madinah did not suit them (and they developed a stomach ailment), so the man who had come with Sayyiduna Tufail (may Allah be pleased with him) became ill, and due to the pain, he cut the joints of his fingers, so blood started flowing from both his hands, from both hands, until he died. Then Sayyiduna Tufail (may Allah be pleased with him) saw him in a dream, and his condition was good, but he was hiding both his hands. Sayyiduna Tufail (may Allah be pleased with him) asked, "What did your Lord do with you?" He said, "He forgave me because I migrated to His Prophet." Sayyiduna Tufail (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "What is the reason that I see you hiding both your hands?" He replied, "I have been told: We will not restore what you yourself have ruined." Then Sayyiduna Tufail (may Allah be pleased with him) related this dream to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Allah! Forgive his both hands as well, just as You have shown mercy to his whole body (restore his both hands as well)."
