Hadith 84
Narrated from Masruq: I was sitting with Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reclining on a cushion, when she said, “O Abu Aisha!” (this was Masruq’s kunya) “There are three things, whoever claims any of them has fabricated a great lie against Allah.” I asked, “What are those three things?” She said, “(One is) whoever thinks that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) saw Allah, he has fabricated a great lie against Allah.” Masruq said: I was reclining on a cushion, but when I heard this, I sat up and said, “O Umm al-Mu’minin! Let me speak and do not rush. Did not Allah say: ‘He saw him at the clear horizon’ (Surah at-Takwir: 23), and ‘And indeed he saw him another time’ (an-Najm: 13)?” Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “I was the first of this Ummah to ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about these verses, and he said: ‘These refer to Jibreel (peace be upon him). I did not see him in his true form except twice, as mentioned in these verses. I saw him descending from the sky, and his great size filled the space between the sky and the earth.’” Then Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “Have you not heard that Allah says: ‘Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all] vision; and He is the Subtle, the Acquainted’ (Surah al-An’am: 103)? Have you not heard that Allah says: ‘It is not for any human being that Allah should speak to him except by revelation or from behind a veil, or that He sends a messenger to reveal, by His permission, what He wills. Indeed, He is Most High and Wise’ (Surah ash-Shura: 51)?” (The second is) “whoever thinks that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) concealed anything from Allah’s Book, he has also fabricated a great lie against Allah. Allah says: ‘O Messenger! Convey that which has been revealed to you from your Lord. If you do not, then you have not conveyed His message’ (al-Ma’idah: 67).” Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “And whoever says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) knew what would happen tomorrow (i.e., knowledge of the unseen), he has also fabricated a great lie against Allah. Allah Himself says: ‘Say: None in the heavens and the earth knows the unseen except Allah’.” And Dawud has added so much that Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “If the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) were to conceal anything of what was revealed to him (i.e., the Qur’an), he would have concealed this verse: ‘And [remember] when you said to the one on whom Allah bestowed favor and you [also] bestowed favor, “Keep your wife to yourself and fear Allah,” while you concealed within yourself that which Allah is to disclose. And you feared the people, while Allah has more right that you fear Him’ (Surah al-Ahzab: 37).”

Hadith 85
Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood and mentioned five things. He (peace be upon him) said: 1. Allah, Glorious and Exalted is He, does not sleep, and it is not befitting for Him to sleep (because sleep is due to fatigue of muscles and body parts, and Allah is free from fatigue; secondly, sleep is heedlessness and akin to death, and Allah is free from that). 2. He is the One Who lowers and raises the scale (of deeds). 3. To Him, the deeds of the night are raised before the deeds of the day, and the deeds of the day are raised before the deeds of the night. 4. His veil is light. In another narration, His veil is fire. 5. If He were to remove that veil, the radiance of His Face would burn all of creation as far as His gaze reaches.

Hadith 86
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that some people asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "Will we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you suffer any hardship in seeing the moon on the night when it is full (the fourteenth night)? (Meaning, due to crowding and thronging.) Or do you have any difficulty in seeing the full moon on the fourteenth night?" The people said: "No, O Messenger of Allah!" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you have any difficulty in seeing the sun when there are no clouds (and the sky is clear), or do you harm one another in seeing it?" The people said: "No, O Messenger of Allah!" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then, likewise (i.e., without any hardship, difficulty, trouble, or crowding), you will see your Lord."
Allah Almighty will gather the people on the Day of Resurrection and will say: "Whoever used to worship anything, let him follow that which he used to worship." Then, whoever used to worship the sun will follow the sun, and whoever used to worship the moon will follow the moon, and whoever used to worship false deities (Taghut) will follow the Taghut. Thus, only this Ummah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) will remain, among whom will be some hypocrites. Then Allah Almighty will come to them in a form which they do not recognize and will say: "I am your Lord." They will say: "We seek refuge with Allah from you, and we will remain here until our Lord comes, and when our Lord comes, we will recognize Him." Then Allah Almighty will come to them in a form which they recognize and will say: "I am your Lord." They will say: "You are our Lord." Then they will follow Him.
A bridge will be laid over the back of Hell, and I and my Ummah will be the first to cross it, and on that Day, no one will speak except the Messengers. And the words of the Messengers at that time will be: "O Allah, save (us)!" (They will say this out of compassion for the creation.) And in Hell there will be hooks (of iron, whose heads are bent, and when meat is put in the oven, it is put in with hooks), like the thorns of the Sa'dan bush (Sa'dan is a thorny bush). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the Companions: "Have you seen the Sa'dan bush?" They said: "Yes, we have seen it." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "So those hooks will be in the shape of the thorns of the Sa'dan, but none knows how big those hooks will be except Allah Almighty." They will drag people into Hell (i.e., the angels will drag the people of Hell with those hooks) because of their evil deeds. Now, some of them will be ruined due to their evil deeds, and some will be recompensed for their deeds until, when Allah Almighty finishes judging between the servants and wills to take out from Hell whomever He wishes by His mercy, He will command the angels to take out from Hell those who did not associate anything with Allah, upon whom Allah wished to have mercy, those who used to say: "La ilaha illallah." The angels will recognize them in Hell by the marks of prostration, and the Fire will consume the whole person except the place of the mark of prostration (because) Allah Almighty has forbidden the Fire to consume the place of the mark of prostration. Then they will be brought out of Hell, burnt and charred, and the water of life will be sprinkled upon them, and they will grow fresh as a seed grows by the side of a stream (where water brings along debris and soil, the seed grows well and quickly becomes lush and green; likewise, those people of Hell will become fresh as soon as the water of life is poured on them, and the marks of burning will completely disappear).
Then, when Allah Almighty finishes judging between the servants, and one man remains whose face will be towards Hell, and he will be the last person to enter Paradise, he will say: "O Lord! Turn my face away from Hell, for its stench has harmed me and its heat has burnt me." Then he will supplicate to Allah as long as Allah wills. After that, Allah Almighty will say: "If I grant you this, will you ask for anything else?" He will say: "No," and will make promises and covenants as Allah wills. Then Allah Almighty will turn his face away from Hell (towards Paradise). When his face is turned towards Paradise, he will remain silent as long as Allah wills, then he will say: "O Lord! Bring me to the gate of Paradise." Allah Almighty will say: "Did you not make promises and covenants that you would not ask for anything else? Woe to you, O son of Adam, how treacherous you are!" He will say: "O Lord!" and will supplicate until Allah Almighty says: "If I grant you this, will you ask for anything else?" He will say: "No, by Your honor," and will make promises and covenants as Allah wills. Finally, Allah Almighty will bring him to the gate of Paradise. When he stands there, all of Paradise will be shown to him, and all the blessings, happiness, and joy therein. Then, for a period as long as Allah wills, he will remain silent. After that, he will say: "O Lord! Admit me into Paradise." Allah Almighty will say: "Did you not make firm promises and covenants that you would not ask for anything else? Woe to you, O son of Adam, how deceitful you are!" He will say: "O my Lord, I will not be wretched among Your creation," and will continue to supplicate until Allah, the Exalted, will laugh. And when Allah Almighty laughs, He will say: "Go, enter Paradise." When he enters Paradise, Allah Almighty will say to him: "Now wish for something else." He will wish and ask, until Allah Almighty will remind him: "Ask for such and such, ask for such and such." When his wishes are exhausted, Allah Almighty will say: "We have given you all these things and as much again with them." (That is, double what you wished for. SubhanAllah! What grace and mercy of Allah Almighty upon His servants! And if He does not show grace, then who will? He alone is the Owner, the Creator, the Provider, the Sustainer.)
‘Ata bin Yazid, who is the narrator of this hadith, said that Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) also narrated this hadith in agreement with Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), and did not differ in anything. But when Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that Allah Almighty will say to him: "We have given you all these things and as much again with them," Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Abu Hurairah! And ten times as much as that." So Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I remember that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'We have given you all these things and as much again with them.'" Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I bear witness that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'We have given you all these things and ten times as much.'" Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "This is the person who will be the last to enter Paradise (so what blessings will the rest of the people of Paradise receive!)."
