Hadith 71
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Count how many people profess Islam." Then we said, "O Messenger of Allah! Do you fear any calamity befalling us because of the enemies? And indeed, we are between six hundred and seven hundred men." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You do not know; perhaps you may fall into affliction." Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Then it happened as such that we fell into affliction, to the extent that some of us would even perform prayer secretly (in hiding)."
