Hadith 57
It is narrated from Sha’bi that he heard Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) saying: "The slave who runs away from his master becomes a disbeliever (here, disbelief means ungratefulness because he did not fulfill the right of his master) until he returns to them." Mansur said: "By Allah, this hadith is indeed narrated as marfu’ (attributed) to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), but (here) I have not narrated it as marfu’, rather I have mentioned it as the statement of Sayyiduna Jarir. It seems bad to me that this hadith should be narrated from me in this place, Basra."
