Hadith 52
Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that a man asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah! What are the two things that make something obligatory?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: "Whoever dies in such a state that he does not associate anything with Allah will enter Paradise, and whoever dies in such a state that he associates something with Allah will enter Hell."

Hadith 53
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Al-Aswad Al-Daili that Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) told him: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was sleeping, wrapped in white clothes. (I returned.) When I came again, he was still sleeping. When I came the third time, he was awake, so I sat with him. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever says "La ilaha illallah" (i.e., holds the belief in the oneness of Allah) and then dies upon that, will enter Paradise. I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Even if he commits theft and adultery?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Yes, even if he commits adultery and theft." I asked him this three times, and he gave the same answer each time. And the fourth time he said, "Yes, he will enter Paradise even if Abu Dharr's nose is rubbed in the dust." Then Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) left, saying, "Even if Abu Dharr's nose is covered with dust."
