Hadith 49
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Uthman: When the claim of Ziyad was made, I was with Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) (Ziyad was his maternal brother), and I said, "What did your (i.e., your brother) do?" Indeed, I heard Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) say: My ears heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever, after accepting Islam, ascribes himself to anyone other than his father, Paradise is forbidden for him. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I too heard this myself from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
