Humayd reports: Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about the earnings of a cupping practitioner. He said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had cupping done by Abu Taybah, then he (peace be upon him) ordered that he be given two sa’ of grain, and he told his owners to take less tax from him (i.e., the levy they used to take from him). And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Among the medicines with which you treat yourselves, the best medicine is cupping, or he said: It is among your best medicines.
