Mukhtasar Muslim

Khaitamah says: We were sitting with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) when his steward came. He asked him, "Have you given the expenses to the slaves?" He replied, "No." So he said, "Go and give them their expenses, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'It is enough of a sin for a man that he withholds the expenses from those whose maintenance is his responsibility.'"
