Abu Salamah bin Abdur Rahman says: Abdur Rahman bin Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by me, so I said to him: How did you hear your father (Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him) regarding what he used to say about this mosque whose foundation was laid on piety? He said: My father (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I entered upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the house of one of his wives and I asked: O Messenger of Allah! Which is the mosque about which Allah Almighty says its foundation was laid on piety? He (the narrator) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took a handful of pebbles and struck them on the ground and said: It is this mosque of yours in Madinah. (Abu Salamah bin Abdur Rahman says:) I also testify that I too heard your father (may Allah be pleased with him) mentioning it in the same way about this mosque.
