Abu Sa'id Mawla Mahri narrates that he came to Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) during the nights of Harrah (that is, during the days when a famous turmoil occurred in Madinah Tayyibah and the oppressors looted Madinah) and consulted him about leaving Madinah for somewhere else. He complained to him about the high prices (inflation) and the large number of dependents, and informed him that he could not bear the hardship and hunger of Madinah. So Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Woe to you! I will not advise you to do this (because) I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'No person endures the hardships here and then dies, except that I will be his intercessor or witness on the Day of Resurrection, if he is a Muslim.'"
