'Amir bin Sa'd narrates that Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) went to his house which was in 'Aqiq, and (on the way) he saw a slave who was cutting a tree or plucking its leaves, so he seized his belongings. When Sayyiduna Sa'd returned, the family of that slave came and said, "Please return it to him or grant it to us." He replied, "I seek refuge with Allah from returning something which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has granted to me as a gift." And he refused to return his belongings.
