It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that he said: Sayyiduna Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) was riding behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Then a woman from the tribe of Khath'am came and she began to ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) something, and Sayyiduna Fadl began to look at her, so she began to look at Fadl. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) turned Fadl's face to the other side. The woman said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Allah has made Hajj obligatory upon His servants, and my father is so old that he cannot sit on a mount. Should I perform Hajj on his behalf? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes. And this was during the Farewell Pilgrimage.
