`Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that` he (peace be upon him) said: No person should single out the night of Jumu'ah (Friday) among all nights for standing (in prayer) and nor its day (i.e., Friday) among all days for fasting, unless it is his regular practice (such as fasting on a specific date every month) and Jumu'ah happens to fall on that day.
