Obligation of Sadaqat al-Fitr from dates or barley
Hadith 520

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made obligatory the Sadaqat al-Fitr after Ramadan upon the people: one sa’ of dates or one sa’ of barley, upon every free and slave, male and female, who is a Muslim.
