Mukhtasar Muslim

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: "What do you say about a person who does good deeds and people praise him for it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "This is an immediate glad tiding for the believer (i.e., the reward and recompense in the Hereafter is separate; this is a source of happiness for him in this world that people praise him)."
