´Sayyida Amrah bint Abdur Rahman (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that she heard from Ummul Mu'mineen Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) (and in her presence it was mentioned that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that the dead is punished because of the weeping of the living over him), so Ummul Mu'mineen Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) said: May Allah forgive Abu Abdur Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him), he did not lie but he made a mistake. The reality is that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a Jewish woman over whom people were weeping, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: They are weeping over her, while she is being punished in her grave.
